AWS Credit Shortfall & Project Hosting for Aegis (Project Aegis)
I’m reaching out about a hosting issue with my hackathon submission, Project Aegis. I'm using Amazon OpenSearch Service to power the backend, which keeps the front‑end live and demo‑ready for the judges. Unfortunately, my application for the $300 AWS hackathon credit was not approved, and the service is currently running at about $5/day.
With two weeks still to go, I’m concerned about sustaining the service without additional credits. Would you recommend that I:
1. Pause the OpenSearch instance?
2. Something else.
Any guidance you can share would be hugely appreciated. I want to ensure the judges can experience Aegis exactly as intended.
Thank you for your help and for organizing such an inspiring event!
Regards, Miko.

You may stop the service now. We will let you know if the project qualifies for evaluation, and we need the active service to evaluate the project.

Thank you for the update. Per your instruction, I’ve stopped the AWS service.
I believe my submission meets Devpost’s judging criteria. When you’re ready to confirm whether it qualifies, please let me know and I’ll reactivate the service immediately—or provide any additional information you may need.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

I wanted to confirm where the organizing team is based—India or the United States? I initially joined this challenge believing it was run by the DevPost team in the U.S., and I’ve invested many dedicated hours accordingly.

Hi Miko,
Any hackathon is going to be organized by the Sponsor even in case where you may see the Managed by Devpost badge (which means we are managing it). There is a little more about that in this help article: https://help.devpost.com/article/42-what-does-e2809cmanaged-by-devposte2809d-mean. In the case of this specific hackathon, Devpost is the Administrator, but Impetus is the hackathon Sponsor and Organizer. Don't hesitate to reach out to Devpost Support or to me directly if you have any more questions. Good luck!

Thank you for the clarification! That’s clear. I’ll reach out if I have any other questions.
